حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا أَبُو يُوسُفَ يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقُلُوسِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ ثنا حَشْرَجُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَشْرَجٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِذِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَلَمَّا أَقْبَلْنَا رَاجِعِينَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ بَكَتِ امْرَأَةُ رَجُلٍ كَانَ اسْتُشْهِدَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذِهِ الْبَاكِيَةُ؟» فَقَالُوا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ «أَنْتِ إِلَى عَائِذِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو» فَزَوَّجَهَا أَبَاهُ وَأَوْصَاهُ بِهَا

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on an expedition. When we returned heading back to Madinah, the wife of a man who had been martyred with the Messenger of God ﷺ wept. He said: "Who is this weeping woman?" They said: "Fāṭimah bt. ʿAdī." He said: "You belong to ʿAʾidh b. ʿAmr." So he married her to his father and entrusted her to him.
