حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو حُمَةَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا أَبُو قُرَّةَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي فِدَاءِ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ فَلَمَّا كَلَّمْتُهُ قَالَ «لَوْ كَانَ مُطْعِمُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ عِنْدِي ثُمَّ كَلَّمَنِي فِي هَؤُلَاءِ لَأَطْلَقْتُهُمْ لَهُ» وَكَانَ لِمَطْعَمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَدٌ

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding the ransom of the people of Badr. When I spoke to him, he said: “If Mut'im b. 'Adiyy were with me and then spoke to me concerning these, I would have released them for him.” Mut'im b. 'Adiyy had a favor owed to him by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
