حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
بَيْنَا أَنَا أَسِيرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الْجُحْفَةِ وَالْأَبْوَاءِ إِذْ غَشِيَتْنَا رِيحٌ وَظُلْمَةٌ فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَعَوَّذُ بِأَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَأَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ وَيَقُولُ «يَا عُقْبَةُ تَعَوَّذْ فَمَا تَعَوَّذَ مُتَعَوِّذٌ بِمِثْلِهَا» قَالَ ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ يَؤُمُّنَا بِهِمَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ

✧ While I was traveling with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ between al-Juhfa and al-Abwāʾ, a wind and darkness overtook us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ began seeking refuge with "I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak" and "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind," and he said: "O ʿUqba, seek refuge, for no one has sought refuge with the like of them." He said: Then I heard him leading us in prayer with them.
