حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ سَهْلٍ أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ
جِئْتُ فِي اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَاكِبًا حَتَّى ظَلَّلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَصْحَابِي تَرْعَى إِبِلَنَا وَنَنْطَلِقُ فَنَقْتَبِسَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَإِذَا رُحْنَا اقْتَبَسْنَاكَ مِمَّا سَمِعْنَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَفَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ أَيَّامًا ثُمَّ إِنِّي فَكَّرْتُ فِي نَفْسِي فَقُلْتُ لَعَلِّي مَغْبُونٌ يَسْمَعُ أَصْحَابِي مَا لَمْ أَسْمَعْ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا لَمْ أَتَعَلَّمْ مِنْ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ فَحَضَرَتُ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءًا كَامِلًا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى صَلَاتِهِ كَانَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ»

✧ I came with twelve riders, and we shaded the Messenger of God ﷺ. My companions said, “You graze our camels while we go and acquire knowledge from the Messenger of God ﷺ; when we return, we will share with you what we heard from the Messenger of God ﷺ.” I did that for days. Then I thought to myself, “Perhaps I am being cheated: my companions hear what I do not hear and learn what I do not learn from the Prophet of God ﷺ.” So I attended one day, and the Prophet of God ﷺ said, “Whoever performs ablution completely and then stands for prayer, his sins become as on the day his mother gave birth to him.”
