حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثَنَا أَبِي ثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِمَاسَةَ قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ §فَقَامَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُلُوسٌ فَقَالَ
النَّاسُ وَرَاءَهُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُكُمْ تَقُولُونَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ كَيْمَا أَجْلِسَ وَأَنْ لَيْسَ تِلْكَ السُّنَّةَ وَإِنَّمَا السُّنَّةُ الَّتِي صَنَعْتُ
Translation

✧ The people behind him said: 'Glory be to God,' but he did not sit. When he finished, he prostrated two prostrations while sitting. Then he said: "I heard you saying 'Glory be to God' so that I sit, but that is not the Sunnah. Rather, the Sunnah is what I have done."
