حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِمَاسَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ §قَامَ فِي صَلَاةٍ وَعَلَيْهِ جُلُوسٌ فَقَالَ
النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ فَعَرَفَ الَّذِي يُرِيدُونَ فَلَمَّا أَتَمَّ صَلَاتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنِّي قَدْ سَمِعْتُ قَوْلَكُمْ هَذِهِ السُّنَّةُ»

✧ The people said: 'Glory be to God, glory be to God.' And he realized what they intended. When he completed his prayer, he prostrated two prostrations while sitting. Then he said: "Indeed I heard your words. This is the Sunnah."
