حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْبَرْبَهَارِيُّ ثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ثَنَا مَرْوانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ
أَتَى الله ﷻ بِعَبْدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ فَقَالَ «مَا عَمِلْتَ؟» فَيَقُولُ مَا عَمِلْتُ شَيْئًا أَرْجُوكَ بِهِ كَثِيرًا مِنْ صَلَاةٍ وَصَوْمٍ غَيْرَ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ أَتَيْتَنِي فَضْلًا مِنْ مَالٍ فَكُنْتُ أُخَالِطُ النَّاسَ وَأُيَسِّرُ عَلَى الْمُوسِرَ وَأُنْظِرُ الْمُعْسِرَ فَقَالَ «نَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِذَلِكَ فَتَجَاوَزُوا عَنْ عَبْدِي» فَغَفَرَ اللهُ لَهُ

✧ Allah, Exalted is He, will bring a servant from His servants and say: "What did you do?" He will say: 'I did not do anything I hope for You with, much of prayer and fasting, except that You gave me surplus wealth, and I used to mix with people, make things easy for the well-off, and give respite to the one in difficulty.' Then He will say: "We are more deserving of that. So overlook My servant," and Allah forgave him.
