حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ قَالَ قَالَ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو لِحُذَيْفَةَ أَلَا تُحَدِّثُنَا مَا
سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ؟ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ مَعَ الدَّجَّالِ إِذَا خَرَجَ نَارًا وَمَاءً فَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَرَى النَّاسُ أَنَّهَا نَارٌ فَمَاءٌ وَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَرَى النَّاسُ أَنَّهَا مَاءٌ فَنَارٌ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَقَعْ فِي الَّذِي يَرَى أَنَّهَا نَارٌ فَإِنَّهُ مَاءٌ عَذْبٌ بَارِدٌ» وَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَجُلًا مِمَّنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ أَتَاهُ الْمَلَكُ لِيَقْبِضَ نَفْسَهُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ هَلْ عَمِلْتَ مِنْ خَيْرٍ؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْلَمُ قِيلَ انْظُرْ قَالَ مَا أعْلَمُ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنِّي كُنْتُ أُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَأُجَازِفُهُمْ فَأُنْظِرُ الْمُعْسِرَ وَأَتَجَاوَزُ عَنِ الْمُوسِرِ فَأَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَجُلًا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ فَلَمَّا أَيِسَ مِنَ الْحَيَاةِ أَوْصَى أَهْلَهُ إِذَا أَنَا مُتُّ فَاجْمَعُوا لِي حَطَبًا كَثِيرًا حَوْلًا ثُمَّ انْظُرُوا يَوْمًا رَائِحًا فَذَرُونِي فِي الْيَمِّ فَفَعَلُوا فَجَمَعَهُ اللهُ فَقَالَ لَمَ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ فَغَفَرَ اللهُ لَهُ قَالَ عُقْبَةُ وَأَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ وَكَانَ

✧ Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say it? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Indeed with the Dajjal, when he emerges, there will be fire and water. As for what people see as fire, it is water; and as for what people see as water, it is fire. So whoever of you reaches that, let him fall into what he sees as fire, for it is sweet, cold water." And Hudhayfah said: I heard him say: "A man from those before you was visited by the angel to take his soul. It was said to him: 'Have you done any good?' He said: 'I do not know.' It was said: 'Look.' He said: 'I do not know of anything, except that I used to trade with people in the world, and I would be generous with them, give respite to the one in difficulty, and overlook the one who was well-off.' So Allah admitted him to Paradise." And I heard him say: "A man was approached by death. When he despaired of life, he instructed his family: 'When I die, gather for me a large amount of firewood around me, then wait for a windy day and scatter me in the sea.'
