حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ أَسْأَلُ عَلِيًّا ؓ الشَّيْءَ فَيَأْبَى عَلَيَّ فَأَقُولُ بِحَقِّ جَعْفَرٍ فَإِذَا قُلْتُ بِحَقِّ جَعْفَرٍ أَعْطَانِي

✧ I used to ask 'Ali ؓ for something and he would refuse me, so I would say, 'By the right of Ja'far,' and when I said, 'By the right of Ja'far,' he gave it to me.
