حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُ بِالصَّدَقَةِ فَيَنْطَلِقُ الرَّجُلُ فَيَتَحَامَلُ فَيَجِيءُ بِالْمُدِّ وَإِنَّ لِبَعْضِهِمُ الْيَوْمَ لَمِائَةَ أَلْفٍ» قَالَ شَقِيقُ فَرَأَيْتُ أَنَّهُ يُعَرِّضُ بِنَفْسِهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command charity, so a man would go and exert himself, then come with a mudd. Indeed, some of them today have a hundred thousand. Shaqiq said: I saw that he was alluding to himself.
