حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَا ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كَانَ فِينَا رَجُلٌ
يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ وَكَانَ لَهُ غُلَامٌ لَحَّامٌ فَقَالَ لِغُلَامِهِ اجْعَلْ لِي طَعَامًا لَعَلِّي أَدْعُو النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَدَعَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَامِسَ خَمْسَةٍ فَتَبِعَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِلرَّجُلِ «إِنَّكَ دَعَوْتَنِي خَامِسَ خَمْسَةٍ وَإِنَّ هَذَا تَبِعَنَا فَإِنْ أَذِنْتَ وَإِلَّا رَجَعَ» فَقَالَ بَلْ نَأْذَنُ لَهُ

✧ He was called Abu Shuʿayb, and he had a slave who was a butcher. He said to his slave, "Prepare food for me, perhaps I will invite the Prophet ﷺ as the fifth of five." He invited the Prophet ﷺ as the fifth of five, and a man followed him. The Prophet ﷺ said to the man, "You invited me as the fifth of five, and this man has followed us. If you permit, he may enter; otherwise he will return." He said, "Rather, we permit him."
