وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ عِصْمَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ سُبْحَةُ الْحَدِيثِ وَأَبْغَضُ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللهِ التَّحْدِيفُ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا سُبْحَةُ الْحَدِيثِ؟ قَالَ «الْقَوْمُ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ وَالرَّجُلُ يُسَبِّحُ» قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا التَّحْدِيفُ؟ قَالَ الْقَوْمُ يَكُونُونَ بِخَيْرٍ فَيَسْأَلُهُمُ الْجَارُ وَالصَّاحِبُ فَيَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ بِشَرٍّ يَشْكُونَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The most beloved action to Allah ﷻ is subhat al-hadith, and the most hateful of actions to Allah is al-tahdif. We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is subhat al-hadith?' He said, 'People conversing while a man glorifies Allah.' We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what is al-tahdif?' He said, 'People being in a good state, then a neighbor or companion asks them, and they say, "We are in a bad state," complaining.'
