وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ عِصْمَةَ قَالَ
دَخَلَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَوْمًا الْمَسْجِدَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْكَرَاهِيَةِ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا لِي إِذَا دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ أَرَى الْكَرَاهِيَةَ فِي وُجُوهِ النَّاسِ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَقَالَ «يَا مَعْشَرَ النَّاسِ لَنْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَلَنْ تَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ حَتَّى تُحِبُّوا عَبَّاسًا»
Translation

✧ Al-ʿAbbas b. ʿAbd al-Muttalib entered the mosque one day and greeted them. He noticed dislike in their faces, so he returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his house and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why is it that when I enter the mosque I see dislike in people's faces?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came until he entered the mosque and said, 'O people, you will never believe and you will never be believers until you love ʿAbbas.'
