وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ عِصْمَةَ قَالَ
لَمَّا مَاتَتْ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الَّتِي تَحْتَ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «زَوِّجُوا عُثْمَانَ لَو كَانَ لِي ثَالِثَةً لَزَوَّجْتُهُ وَمَا زَوَّجْتُهُ إِلَّا بِالْوَحْيِ مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ»
Translation

✧ When the daughter of the Messenger of God ﷺ who was married to Uthman died, the Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Marry Uthman. If I had a third, I would marry him to her. I did not marry him except by revelation from God, exalted be He.”
