حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثَنَا حَشْرَجُ بْنُ نُبَاتَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ بَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ يَسْتَعِينُ بِهِ عَلَى بَعْضِ الصَّدَقَةِ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَعْمَلَ لَهُ ثُمّ قَالَ إنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَمَرَ بالوالي فَيُوقَفُ عَلَى جِسْرِ جَهَنَّمَ فَيَأْمُرُ الْجِسْرَ فَيَنْتَفِضُ انْتِفَاضَةً فَيَزُولُ كُلُّ عَظْمٍ مِنْهُ مِنْ مَكَانِهِ ثُمَّ يَأْمُرُ اللهُ الْعِظَامَ فَتَرْجِعُ إِلَى مَكَانِهِ ثُمَّ يَسْأَلهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ لِلَّهِ مُطِيعًا اجْتَبَذَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ كِفْلَيْنِ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ وإِنْ كَانَ لِلَّهِ عَاصِيًا حَرَفَ بِهِ الْجِسْرُ فَهَوَى إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا»
Translation

✧ 'Umar b. al-Khattab sent for him to seek his help with some of the sadaqah, but he refused to work for him. Then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'When the Day of Resurrection comes, the ruler will be commanded and made to stand on the bridge of Jahannam. The bridge will be commanded and it will shake violently, and every bone in him will be dislocated from its place. Then Allah will command the bones and they will return to their places. Then He will question him. If he was obedient to Allah, He will seize him and give him a double portion of reward. But if he was disobedient to Allah, the bridge will twist with him and he will fall into Jahannam for seventy autumns.'"
