حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ قَالَ
نَعَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَصْحَابَ مُؤْتَةَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ رَجُلًا رَجُلًا بَدَأَ بِزَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ ثُمَّ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ثُمَّ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ رَحِمَهُمُ اللهُ قَالَ «فَأَخَذَ اللِّوَاءَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَهُوَ سَيْفٌ مِنْ سُيُوفِ اللهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ announced the death of the companions of Mu’tah from the pulpit, one by one: he began with Zayd b. Harithah, then Ja‘far b. Abi Talib, then ‘Abd Allah b. Rawahah, may Allah have mercy on them. He said, “Then Khalid b. al-Walid took the banner, and he is a sword among the swords of Allah.”
