حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَرْقِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبِكَالِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ
عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْجَدِّ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ بْنِ ضُبَيْعَةَ وَهُوَ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ حَلِيفٌ لِبَنِي عُبَيْدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى بَدْرٍ فَرَدَّهُ وَضَرَبَ لَهُ بِسَهْمِهِ مَعَ أَصْحَابِ بَدْرٍ وَيُقَالُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ اسْتَخْلَفَهُ عَلَى الْعَالِيَةِ وَيُقَالُ عَاشَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ وَمِائَةً

✧ Asim b. ʿAdi b. al-Jadd b. ʿAjlan b. Dubayʿah, who was from Bali and an ally of Banu ʿUbayd b. Zayd b. Malik b. ʿAwf b. ʿAmr b. ʿAwf b. Malik b. al-Aws, went out with the Messenger of God ﷺ to Badr, but he sent him back and allotted him an arrow along with the people of Badr. And it is said that the Prophet ﷺ appointed him as his deputy over al-ʿAliyah, and it is said that he lived to be one hundred and fifteen years old.
