ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزْدَادَ التَّوَّزِيُّ ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الرَّقِّيِّ ثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ شَيْخٍ مِنْ فَزَارَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
دَخَلَ عُيَيْنَةُ بْنُ بَدْرٍ وَحِصْنٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ جَمِيعًا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فَدَعَا لِعُيَيْنَةَ بِنُمْرُقَةٍ فَأَجْلَسَهُ عَلَيْهَا وَقَالَ «إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ»

✧ ʿUyaynah b. Badr and Ḥiṣn entered upon the Prophet ﷺ while Abu Bakr and ʿUmar were with him, all sitting on the ground. He called for a cushion for ʿUyaynah and seated him on it, and said: “When a nobleman of a people comes to you, honor him.”
