حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ الْكِلَابِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِيه قَالَ لَمَّا مَاتَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ بَكَى عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَقِيلَ لَه تَبْكِي؟ فَقَالَ
«أَخِي وَصَاحِبِي مَع رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيَّ إِلَّا مَا كَان مِن عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ »
