حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو بِلَالٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا جَاءَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ وَصُفِّدَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ وَنَادَى مُنَادٍ يَا طَالِبَ الْخَيْرِ هَلُمَّ وَيَا طَالِبَ الشَّرِّ اقْتَصِرْ حَتَّى يَنْسَلِخَ الشَّهْرُ

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “When the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, the devils are chained, and a caller cries out: ‘O seeker of good, come forward; and O seeker of evil, desist’ — until the month passes.”
