حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اللَّيْثِ الْهوادِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ؓ قَالَ
ذَكَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ النَّارَ فَأَشَاحَ بِوَجْهِهِ فَتَعَوَّذَ مِنْهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا فَبِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the Fire and turned his face away, then sought refuge from it three times. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Guard against the Fire, even with half a date. If you cannot find that, then with a good word.”
