حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثَنَا آدَمُ ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَيْدِ الْمِعْرَاضِ؟ فَقَالَ «إِذَا أَصَبْتَ بِحَدِّهِ فَكُلْ وَإِذَا أَصَبْتَ بِعَرْضِهِ فَلَا تَأْكُلْ فَإِنَّهُ وَقِيذٌ»

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with the miʿrāḍ. He said: “If you strike with its edge, eat, and if you strike with its side, do not eat, for it is a waqīdh (one killed by a blunt blow).”
