حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا قَوْمٌ نَصِيدُ بِهَذِهِ الْكِلَابِ وَالطَّيْرِ فَمَا يَحِلُّ لَنَا مِنْهَا؟ قَالَ {الْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ اللهُ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَإِنْ قَتَلَ؟ قَالَ وَإِنْ قَتَلَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَإِنْ خَالَطَهَا كِلَابٌ غَيْرُهَا؟ قَالَ «لَا تَأْكُلْ إِلَّا مَا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَرْمِي قَالَ «كُلْ مَا خَزَقْتَ وَذَكَرْتَ اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْمِعْرَاضُ؟ قَالَ «لَا تَأْكُلْ مِنَ الْمِعْرَاضِ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتَ»

✧ I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we are a people who hunt with these dogs and birds, so what is lawful for us from them?' He said: '{Hunting animals, trained as hounds, teaching them from what Allah has taught you}' until the end of the verse. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, even if it kills?' He said: 'Even if it kills.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, even if other dogs mix with them?' He said: 'Do not eat except that over which the name of Allah has been mentioned.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we shoot (arrows).' He said: 'Eat what you pierce and over which you mention the name of Allah.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about the miʿrad?' He said: 'Do not eat from the miʿrad except what you ritually slaughter.'
