حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَلْطِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَأَنَا عَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ فَقُلْتُ أَعْطِنِي فَأَعْطَانِي سَيْفًا وَقَالَ «تَقَلَّدْ بِهِ» فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَتَقَلَدَّتُهُ فَوَقَعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ أَعْطَانِي مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Khaybar, and I was a slave owned by someone. I said, 'Give me something.' He gave me a sword and said, 'Gird yourself with it.' I took it and girded myself with it, but it fell to the ground. Then he gave me some of the odds and ends of the baggage.
