حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثَنَا أَبِي قَالَا ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ بْنِ قُنْفُذٍ عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ قَالَ
«كُنْتُ أَرْعَى بِذَاتِ الْجَيْشِ فَأَصَابَتْنِي خَصَاصَةٌ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِبَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَدَلَّنِي عَلَى حَائِطٍ لِبَعْضِ الْأَنْصَارِ فاقْتَطَعْتُ مِنْهُ أُقْنًا فَأَخَذُونِي فَذَهَبُوا بِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِحَاجَتِي فَأعْطَانِي قِنْوًا وَاحِدًا وَرَدَّ سَائِرَهُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ»

✧ I was herding at Dhat al-Jaysh when I was struck by severe hunger. I mentioned that to one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, and he directed me to a walled garden belonging to one of the Ansar. I cut a bunch of dates from it, so they seized me and took me to the Prophet ﷺ. I informed him of my need, so he gave me one bunch of dates and returned the rest to its owners.
