✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage saying: “Indeed, which day is most sacred?” They said: “The day of the greater pilgrimage.” He said: “Indeed, your blood, your wealth, and your honor among you are sacred, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this land of yours, in this month of yours. Indeed, no offender commits a crime except against himself. Indeed, a parent does not commit a crime against his child, nor a child against his parent. Indeed, Satan has despaired of ever being worshipped in this land of yours, but he will have obedience in some of the deeds you regard as insignificant, and he will be content with that. Indeed, every blood-claim of the age of ignorance is abolished, and the first blood-claim I abolish is that of al-Harith b. ʿAbd al-Muttalib. He had been placed in foster care among Banu Layth, and Hudhayl killed him.” Then he said: “O my community, have I conveyed?” three times. Then he said: “O God, bear witness” three times.
