حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثَنَا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ
مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِ دِيَارِنَا فَوَجَدَ قُتَارًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ هَذَا الَّذِي ذَبَحَ؟» فَخَرَجَ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَانَ يَوْمٌ الطَّعَامُ فِيهِ كَرِيهٌ فَذَبَحْتُ لِآكُلَ وَأُطْعِمَ جِيرَانِي قَالَ «فَأَعِدْ الذَّبْحَ» قَالَ لَا وَاللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ مَا عِنْدِي إِلَّا جَذَعٌ مِنَ الضَّأْنِ أَوْ حَمَلٌ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَ «فَاذْبَحْهَا وَلَا تُجْزِئُ جَذَعَةٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ» وَكَانَ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed through our dwellings and noticed the smell of roasting meat. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Who is this who has slaughtered?" A man from among us came out and said: "O Messenger of God, it is a day on which food is undesirable, so I slaughtered to eat and to feed my neighbors." He said: "Slaughter again." He said: "No, by God besides whom there is no god, I have nothing but a jadhaʿah of sheep or a lamb." He said it three times. He said: "Then slaughter it, and a jadhaʿah will not suffice for anyone after you." He had slaughtered before the prayer.
