حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ

ثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَا يَتْرُكُهُنَّ النَّاسُ الطَّعْنُ فِي الْأَنْسَابِ وَالنِّيَاحَةُ وَقَوْلُهُمْ مُطِرْنَا بِنَجْمِ كَذَا وَكَذَا

Translation

  3. Kathīr b. ʿAbdullāh al-Muzanī from his father from his grandfather

✧ Al-Qaʿnabi narrated to us: Kathir b. ʿAbd Allah al-Muzani narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Three things from the affair of Jahiliyyah that people will not abandon: defaming lineages, wailing, and their saying, ‘We were given rain by such-and-such a star.’”
