حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ
أَنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الدِّينَ لَيَأْزِرُ إِلَى الْحِجَازِ كَمَا تَأْزِرُ الْحَيَّةُ إِلَى جُحْرِهَا وَلَيَعْقِلَنَّ الدِّينُ مِنَ الْحِجَازِ مَعْقِلَ الْأُرْوِيَّةِ مِنْ رَأْسِ الْجَبَلِ إِنَّ الدِّينَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا وَيَرْجِعُ غَرِيبًا فَطُوبَى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ الَّذِينَ يُصْلِحُونَ مَا أَفْسَدَ النَّاسُ بَعْدِي مِنْ سُنَّتِي»
Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, religion will retreat to Hijaz just as a snake retreats to its hole. Religion will cling to Hijaz as the mountain goat clings to the mountain top. Religion began as something strange and will return as something strange, so blessed are the strangers who repair what people corrupt after me of my sunnah."
