Chain of narrators
- [Chain 1] Muḥammad b. ʿAlī al-Ṣāʾigh al-Makkī
- al-Qaʿnabī
- Kathīr b. ʿAbdullāh al-Muzanī [Chain 2] ʿAlī b. al-Mubārak al-Ṣanʿānī
- Ismāʿīl b. Abū Ūways
- Kathīr b. ʿAbdullāh from his father from his grandfather
✧ Al-Qaʿnabi narrated to us: Kathir b. ʿAbd Allah al-Muzani narrated to us. And ʿAli b. al-Mubarak al-Sanʿani narrated to us: Ismaʿil b. Abi Uways narrated to us: Kathir b. ʿAbd Allah narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: "The world will not pass away until there is a detachment of Muslims at Bawlan. O Ali," meaning Ali b. Abi Talib. He said, "At your service, O Messenger of God." He said, "You will fight the Banu al-Asfar, and those after you from the believers will fight them. Then the best of the Muslims, the people of Hijaz who strive in the path of God, whom no blame of a blamer affects regarding God, will go out to them, until God grants them victory over Constantinople and Rome through glorification and takbir. God will demolish its fortress, and they will seize great wealth such as they have never seized before, so much so that they will divide it by the shield. Then a crier will cry out: O people of Islam, the false messiah, the Dajjal, has appeared in your lands. The people will turn away from the wealth; some will take and some will leave, and the taker will regret and the leaver will regret. Then they will say, 'Who is this crier?' and they will not know who he is. They will say, 'Send a scouting party to Ludd. If the messiah has indeed appeared, he will bring you knowledge of it.' They will come and look, but they will see nothing, and they will see the people quiet. They will say, 'The crier cried out only to us, so resolve and be guided. We will all go out to Ludd. If the false messiah is there, we will fight him until God judges between us and him, and He is the best of judges. If it is otherwise, then it is your lands, your kinsmen, and your armies; you will have returned to them.'"
