حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ هَارُونَ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْمُسَيَّبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُلَيْحٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ
لَمَّا أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي عَمْرَةِ الْقَضَاءِ أَصْحَابَهُ فَقَالَ «اكْشِفُوا عَنِ الْمَنَاكِبِ وَاسْعَوْا فِي الطَّوَافِ» لِيَرَى الْمُشْرِكُونَ جَلَدَهُمْ وَقُوَّتَهُمْ وَكَانَ يَكِيدُهُمْ بِكُلِّ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ فَانْكَفَأَ أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ الرِّجَالُ مِنْهُمْ وَالنِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابِهِ وَهُمْ يَطُوفُونَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ يَرْتَجِزُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَوَشِّحًا بِالسَّيْفِ يَقُولُ

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded his companions during the Umrah of al-Qada', saying: 'Uncover your shoulders and hasten in circumambulation,' so that the polytheists would see their vigor and strength; and he plotted against them with all he could. The people of Makkah—men, women, and children—flocked out to look at the Messenger of God ﷺ and his companions while they were circumambulating the House, and ʿAbd Allah b. Rawahah was reciting rajaz verses before the Messenger of God ﷺ, girded with a sword, saying:
