حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَ ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ
لِابْنَتِهِ حِينَ دَخَلَ بِهَا عَلَى الْحَجَّاجِ إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْكِ فَقُولِي «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ» وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُهُ إِذَا نَزَلَ بِهِ الْجَهْدُ فَقَالَتْهُ فَلَمْ يَصِلْ إِلَيْهَا

✧ To his daughter when she entered upon al-Hajjaj: When he enters upon you, say: “There is no god but Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Noble Throne. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.” And he claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say it when hardship befell him. She said it, and he did not reach her.
