حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ قَالَ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ قَالَ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمُهَيْمِنِ بْنُ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ سَهْلًا دَخَلَ عَلَى الْحَجَّاجِ وَهُوَ مُتَوَكِّئٌ عَلَى يَدِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي الْأَنْصَارِ «أَحْسِنُوا إِلَى مُحْسِنِهِمْ وَاعْفُوا عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ» فَقَالَ مَنْ يَشْهَدُ لَكَ؟ قَالَ هَذَانِ كَنَفَيْكَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ فَقَالَا نَعَمْ
Translation

✧ Sahl entered upon al-Hajjaj while leaning on his hand, and said to him: The Prophet ﷺ said concerning the Ansar: “Be good to their good-doers and pardon their wrongdoers.” He said: Who will testify for you? He said: These two at your sides, Abdullah b. Ja'far and Ibrahim b. Muhammad b. Talhah. They said: Yes.
