✧ One day the Messenger of God ﷺ seated me behind him and confided to me a secret that I would not tell anyone. He said: The most beloved things the Messenger of God ﷺ would conceal himself behind were a target and a wall of palm trees. He entered a garden belonging to a man of the Ansar, and there was a camel. When it saw the Prophet ﷺ, it yearned and its eyes shed tears. The Prophet ﷺ came to it and wiped its hump and the back of its neck, and it became calm. Then he said: "Whose camel is this?" A young man of the Ansar came and said: "It is mine, O Messenger of God." He said to him: "Will you not fear God regarding this animal that God has put in your possession? It has complained to me that you starve it and overwork it."
