حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ قَالَ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْمَدَنِيُّ قَالَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى حَمْزَةَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَهُوَ يَدْفِنُهُ فَلُفَّ فِي نَمِرَةٍ فَبَدَتْ قَدَمَاهُ حِينَ خَمَّرُوا رَأْسَهُ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالرَّمْلِ فَجُعِلَ عَلَى قَدَمَيْهِ وَقَالَ «لَوْلَا أَنْ تَحْزَنَ نِسَاؤُنَا لِذَلِكَ لَتَرَكْنَا حَمْزَةَ بِالْعَرَاءِ لِعَافِيَةِ السِّبَاعِ وَالطَّيْرِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ stood over Hamzah on the day of Uhud while burying him. He was wrapped in a striped cloak, and his feet became exposed when they covered his head. The Messenger of God ﷺ ordered sand, and it was placed over his feet. He said: "Were it not that our women would grieve, we would have left Hamzah in the open for the scavenging of beasts and birds."
