حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَنْعَمَ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْمَعَافِرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ دَيْنٍ مَأْجُورٌ مِنْ حَسَنَاتِ صَاحِبِهِ إِلَّا مَنِ ادَّانَ فِي ثَلَاثٍ رَجُلٌ ضَعُفَتْ قُوَّتُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَتَقَوَّى عَلَى قِتَالِ عَدُوِّهِ بِدَيْنٍ فَمَاتَ وَلَمْ يَقْضِ وَرَجُلٌ خَافَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ الْعُزُوبَةَ فَاسْتَعَفَّ بِنِكَاحِ امْرَأَةٍ بِدَيْنٍ فَمَاتَ وَلَمْ يَقْضِ وَرَجُلٌ مَاتَ عِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ مَا يُكَفِّنُهُ إِلَّا بِدَيْنٍ فَمَاتَ وَلَمْ يَقْضِ قُضِيَ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Every debt is rewarded from the good deeds of its owner except for one who incurred debt in three cases: a man whose strength weakened in the path of Allah, so he strengthened himself against fighting his enemy by a debt, then died without repaying it; a man who feared celibacy for himself, so he remained chaste by marrying a woman with a debt, then died without repaying it; and a man with whom a Muslim man died, and he found nothing to shroud him except by a debt, then he died without repaying it. It will be repaid on their behalf on the Day of Resurrection.”
