حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ جُمْهُورٍ السِّمْسَارُ التِّنِّيسِيُّ قَالَ ثنا دُحَيْمٌ قَالَ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ «كَيْفَ بِكُمْ إِذَا جَاءَ زَمَانٌ يُغَرْبَلُ فِيهِ النَّاسُ غَرْبَلَةً وَبَقِيتُمْ فِي حُثَالَةٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ قَدْ مَرِجَتْ عُهُودُهُمْ وَضَيَّعُوا أَمَانَاتِهِمْ فَعَادُوا هَكَذَا» وَأَدْخَلَ أَصَابِعَهُ بَعْضَهُمْ فِي بَعْضٍ فَقَالُوا كَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «تَأْخُذُونَ مَا تَعْرِفُونَ وَتَدَعُونَ مَا تُنْكِرُونَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِخَوَاصِّكُمْ وَدَعُوا عَوَامَّكُمْ»

✧ He reported that the Prophet ﷺ said to him: "How will you be when a time comes in which people will be sifted with a thorough sifting, and you remain among the dregs of people whose covenants have become corrupted and who have neglected their trusts, and they return to being like this"—and he inserted his fingers into one another. They said, "What should we do, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Take what you know and leave what you reject, and keep to your own special affairs, and leave the affairs of your common people."
