حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاهِبِ الْحَارِثِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ جُمَّارًا وَالْقَوْمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ لَشَجَرَةٌ مِثْلَ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ» قَالَ فَسَكَتَ الْقَوْمُ حَتَّى كِدْتُ أَسْأَلُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَقَالَ «هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ»

✧ While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was eating heart of palm along with the people, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Among the trees there is a tree like the Muslim man.' The people fell silent until I was about to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, as I was the youngest of the people. Then he said, 'It is the date palm.'
