حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مِنَ الشَّجَرِ لَشَجَرَةٌ كَالرَّجُلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ» فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَنَظَرْتُ فِي وُجُوهِ الْقَوْمِ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ سِنًّا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "Among trees there is indeed a tree like the believing man." I wanted to say it is the date palm, but I looked at the faces of the people and found that I was the youngest of them in age, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is the date palm."
