حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ فُلَيْحٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ «وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ بِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began the prayer, he would say, 'I have turned my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth, uprightly and in submission, and I am not of the polytheists. Glory be to You, O Allah, with Your praise; blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no god but You. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds, with no partner. With that I have been commanded, and I am of the Muslims.'
