حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ قَطَنِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ أَنَّ يُحَنَّسَ مَوْلَى الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ فَجَاءَتْهُ مَوْلَاةٌ لَهُ تُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ وَاشْتَدَّ عَلَيْنَا الزَّمَانُ فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ اقْعُدِي لَكَاعِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كَانَتْ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

✧ Al-Qanabi narrated to us from Malik, from Qatan ibn Wahb, that Yuhannas, the freed slave of al-Zubayr, informed him that he was sitting with Abdullah ibn Umar during the fitnah when a freed woman of his came to greet him and said: 'O Abu Abdir-Rahman, I wanted to leave, and times have become hard for us.' Abdullah ibn Umar said to her: 'Stay, you wretched one! For I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: "No one endures its hardship and severity except that it will be for him an intercessor or a witness on the Day of Resurrection."'
