حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي شَبَابٌ الْعُصْفُرِيُّ ثنا سَهْلٌ أَبُو عَتَّابٍ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
عَادَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ مَرِيضًا وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى عُودٍ فَوَضَعَ جَبْهَتَهُ عَلَى الْعُودِ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ فَطَرَحَ الْعُودَ وَأَخَذَ وِسَادَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «دَعْهَا عَنْكَ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَّا فَأَوْمِئْ إِيمَاءً وَاجْعَلْ سُجُودَكَ أَخْفَضَ مِنْ رُكُوعِكِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited a sick man from among his companions while I was with him. He entered upon him while he was praying on a piece of wood, placing his forehead on the wood. He gestured to him, so he cast aside the wood and took a cushion. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Put it away from you. If you are able to prostrate on the ground, then do so; otherwise, gesture with a nod, and make your prostration lower than your bowing.”
