حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا حَسَّانُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنِ أَبِي النَّضْرِ الْمَدِينِيِّ عَنْ زِيَادٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَاسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ وَقَفَ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَرْجَعَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «لَوْ نَجَا مِنْ ضَغْطَةِ الْقَبْرِ أَحَدٌ لَنَجَا سَعْدٌ لَقَدْ ضَغَطَهُ ثُمَّ رُخِّيَ عَنْهُ»

✧ On the day Saʿd b. Muʿadh died, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at his grave, then he said, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we return.” Then he said: “If anyone could be saved from the squeezing of the grave, Saʿd would have been saved. It squeezed him, then relief was granted to him.”
