حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ «لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ أَوَّلُ الْمُزَّمِّلِ كَانَ قِيَامُهُمْ مِثْلَ قِيَامِهِمْ فِي رَمَضَانَ أَوْ نَحْوَ قِيَامِهِمْ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَكَانَ بَيْنَ أَوَّلِهَا وَآخِرِهَا سَنَةٌ»

✧ I heard Ibn ʿAbbās say: “When the first part of al-Muzzammil was revealed, their standing in prayer was like their standing in Ramadan, or similar to their standing in Ramadan, and there was a year between its beginning and its end.”
