حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السَّقَطِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِّ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ عَنْتَرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ مَا
أَوْرَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَفْرَاءَ فِي بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا مَا بَيْنَ دَفَّتَيْهِ فَقُمْتُ إِلَى قَائِمِ سَيْفِهِ فَوَجَدْتُ فِي حَمَائِلِ سَيْفِهِ صَحِيفَةً مَكْتُوبٌ فِيهَا «مَنْ أَحْدَثَ حَدَثًا أَوْ آوَى مُحْدِثًا أَوِ انْتَمَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ أَوْ مَوْلًى غَيْرِ مَوَالِيهِ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left us nothing but a yellow thing on a white thing except what is between its two covers (i.e., the Qur'an). I stood up to the hilt of his sword and found in the sword's shoulder strap a scroll on which was written: 'Whoever commits a crime, or shelters a criminal, or claims descent from other than his father, or claims a patron other than his patrons, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.'
