حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الْحَمَّالُ ثنا عَطَاءُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْخَفَّافُ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
قُتِلَ قَتِيلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُعْلَمُ قَاتِلُهُ فَصَعِدَ مِنْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَيُقْتَلُ قَتِيلٌ وَأَنَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ لَا يُعْلَمُ مَنْ قَتَلَهُ لَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى قَتْلِ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَعَذَّبَهُمُ اللهُ بِلَا عَدَدٍ وَلَا حِسَابٍ»

✧ A slain person was killed during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ whose killer was unknown. So he ascended his pulpit and said: "O people, shall a person be killed while I am among you and it is not known who killed him? If the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth were to gather to kill a Muslim man, God would punish them without number or reckoning."
