حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَلْطِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ الضَّبِّيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالَ ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ الرُّمَّانِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ لِلْمَوْتِ فَزَعًا فَإِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ وَفَاةَ أَخِيهِ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ اللهُمَّ اكْتُبْهُ فِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ وَاجْعَلْ كِتَابَهُ فِي عِلِّيِّينَ وَاخْلُفْ عَقِبَهُ فِي الْآخِرِينَ اللهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ وَلَا تَفْتِنَّا بَعْدَهُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: “Death has a terror. When one of you experiences the death of his brother, let him say: 'Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him we return. And indeed to our Lord we are returning. O Allah, record him among the doers of good, place his record in ʿIlliyyin, and grant a righteous successor for his offspring among those who remain. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not test us after him.'”
