حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا فَلَبِسَهَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «شَغَلَنِي هَذَا عَنْكُمْ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ إِلَيْهِ نَظْرَةٌ وَإِلَيْكُمْ نَظْرَةٌ ثُمَّ رَمَى بِهِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ took a ring and wore it, then said: “This has distracted me from you since today—to it a glance and to you a glance.” Then he threw it away.
