حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فُرَاتٍ الْقَزَّازُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَالْحَكَمُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ عَلَيَّ رَقَبَةً وَعِنْدِي جَارِيَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ أَعْجَمِيَّةٌ فَقَالَ ائْتِنِي بِهَا فَقَالَ «أَتَشْهَدِينَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَتَشْهَدِينَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَأَعْتِقْهَا»

✧ That a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “I owe (the freeing of) a slave, and I have a black non-Arab slave girl.” He said: “Bring her to me.” Then he said: “Do you testify that there is no god but God?” She said: “Yes.” He said: “Do you testify that I am the Messenger of God?” She said: “Yes.” He said: “Then free her.”
