حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ الْقُمِّيُّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
كَانَتْ قُرَيْشٌ يَطُوفُونَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَهُمْ عُرَاةٌ يُصَفِّرُونَ وَيُصَفِّقُونَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللهِ} فَأُمِرُوا بِالثِّيَابِ

✧ The Quraysh used to circumambulate the House naked, whistling and clapping, so Allah ﷻ revealed {Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah?'} and they were commanded to wear clothes.
